Unwinding Cable Car- Anberlin- Alternative and Rock

Ok, i just got this song on my iPod, and i love it. It's like so, idk, calm and acoustic-ey. i really like acoustic songs. Hmm. And then theres As I Lay Dying.
Anyway, this is their song:
Unwinding Cable Car.
[v.1]
Emotive unstable you're like an unwinding cable car
Listening for voices, but it's the choices that make us who we are
Go your own way, even seasons have changed just burn those new leaves over
So self-absorbed you've seemed to ignore the prayers that have already come about
[chorus]
This is the correlation of salvation and love
(Don't drop your arms)
Don't drop your arms,
I'll guard your heart
With quiet words
I'll lead you in

La lalalala, la la la, la lala, la
La lalalala, la la la, la lala, la
[v.2]
Backing away from the problem of pain you never had a home
You've been misguided, you're hiding in shadows for so very long
Don't you believe that you've been deceived that you're no better than...
The hair in your eyes, it never disguised what you're really thinking of

[chorus]
((Repeat))

You're so brilliant,
don't soon forget
You're so brilliant,
grace marked your heart
((Repeat))

You're so brilliant (This is the correlation)
Don't soon forget (Between salvation and love, don't drop your arms)
You're so brilliant (I'll guard your heart)
Grace marked your heart (With quiet words I'll lead you in and out of the dark)

La lalalala, la la la, la lala, la (Don't drop your arms)
La lalalala, la la la, la lala, la
This is the correlation of salvation and love (La lalalala, la la la, la lala, la)
(Don't drop your arms)
Don't drop your arms, I'll guard your heart (La lalalala, la la la, la lala, la)
With quiet words I'll lead you in
This is the correlation of salvation and love (La lalalala, la la la, la lala, la)
(Don't drop your arms)
Don't drop your arms, I'll guard your heart (La lalalala, la la la, la lala, la)
With quiet words I'll lead you in

Wow, sorry if that is confuzziling.

Anyway. I think that the song is talking about how we can be so confused and alone, but if we let God help us everything can change. We sometimes ignore the proof that God is there, like when they say 'So self-absorbed you've seemed to ignore the prayers that have already come about'. I think part of the problem is that we always think we can handle it on our own, when, lets take a reality check, we really can't. Lots of people try and tell us that we won't ever reach our dreams and we have no chance of reaching them, or that we'll never amount to anything. Really. Hmm. If no one tried to make their dreams come true then would we have blacks and whites living in peace? NO. Would women be able to have a say in things? NO. Would half of the actors, actresses, bands, and other entertainers be doing what they do? Probably not.
Anberlin also says that 'The hair in your eyes, it never disguised what you're really thinking of'. We can maybe hide our feelings to others, but not to ourselves, or God. He can help us in ways we never imagined, if we just ask Him. I think the chorus is saying that by finding God, we find a way to get unending love, and a way to live forever. He gaurds our hearts, yeah there might be unbearable pain in our lives, but if we ask for His help then he will gaurd us and help us get over it.

Anti-conformity - Krystal Meyers - rock (old stuff like this) power pop/ techno/ rock (new stuff)

OK. Heat Sig requested a new post, so here we go.
The song i chose this time is called 'Anti- conformity' by Krystal Meyers. It's pretty old, i saw her preform it at a concert a couple years ago, but i still like it and i think it has a really great message about today's society.
Lyrics:
[v.1]
It's all around
Pressure from my so-called friends
It's all around
I'm measured by some stupid trend
It's all around
Everyone is just like them
It's all around
It's all around
It's all around

[Chorus:]
So I'm anti conformity
I don't try too hard to be
I'm not what you think you see
Inside I've made a change
And I'll never be the same
NO WAY!

[v.2.]
They conform
Un-individuality
They conform
Forget about variety
Yeah they conform
They don't know what they believe
They conform
They conform
They conform

[Chorus:]

[v.3]
Image is overrated if it washes off in the rain
You know you gotta go deeper to go against the grain

[Chorus:] [2x]

So yeah. i really like how it's talking about how society is all about having this new thing and that new thing and if you don't have it you're a loser, but i believe that isn't cool at all. The thing that matters the most is the person, not their stuff or looks. I mean, sure go a head, look hot, get new stuff, but make sure that you stay yourself and you don't lower your standards and conform to the world. There will always be peer pressure and until you are sure of yourself, that's going to get to you. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you need to love yourself, follow your beliefs and keep them strong, you will be just like everyone else. And wheres the fun in that??? People may say that all Christians are uptight controlling religious freaks, but if you believe in God does that make you exactly like that?? I do know some people who are controlling religious freaks, but you don't have to conform to THAT either. Just make sure you stay straight, like it would be stupid to be "yeah, i love God, he's my best friend, and i will always follow Him," and then go out and do porn, or slit your wrists or kill people or something. That would be conforming even if you say you aren't.
Go ahead try out for the school play even if it's the dorkiest thing ever, but if it makes you happy then the people who think it's stupid and don't like you just because you were a part of it shouldn't really matter anyway... right?

Family Force 5 -crunk/ punk rock, electronic, alternative-

Ok, so I bought Family Force 5's new album (Dance or Die) on iTunes a couple weeks ago and i like it. I like their first one better but this one isn't at all bad. I love Share It With Me and am currently trying to pick out the notes on the piano. But I'm actually going to review a song from their first album (Business up front/ party in the back) called Replace Me. This song, I think, has a bit of everything in it, and they did a really good job of blending it all together.

Lyrics:

(verse 1)

My Batteries died sometime ago (wuh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh)

I Gotta heart shaped box where they must go (wuh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh)

Corrosion's building everyday

My flesh is leading me astray that's why I started to decay

And I will slowly rot away but I can't feel that anyway

(bridge)

This heart it wants to beat

These Lungs they want to breathe

These eyes they want to see

Gotta Mouth that wants to sing

(chorus)

Desperation, needing You

Every last breath I scream for You

Shatter me into a million pieces...

Make me new

Crush me, tear me, break me, mold me

Make me what You want me to be

I am Your's for You to use

So, take and replace me with You

(verse2)

Needing more than just a jump start to get me through]

My disconnection is now the issue.....

(rap)

I miss my first love bad and its driving me mad

Just like a mixed up crazy person out of his head

Its been a long long time I've been on the decline

I do an a-bout face so I can be replaced.

180!!!

(bridge)

(des, des, des) Desperation Needing You

Every last breath I scream for You

Shatter me into a million pieces...

Make me new

Crush me, tear me, break me, mold me

Make me what You want me to be

I am Your's for You to use

So, take and replace me with You

(verse 3)

One for the body

Two for the soul

Three to get ready

Now go go go

Replace me with You!!!(replace me with You!)

Desperation Needing You Every last breath I ssscream...

(chorus)

Anyway I like how this song is talking about when we've turned away from God, which, admit it, we all do, all you have to do is ask for His help and He will help you. No questions asked. I just love Family Force 5 and think that they do a fantasic job with incorperating real life and music that would appeal to everyone and still talk about God. so yeah. The song is pretty self-explanatory.

Do you like my new panda?? You can feed her if you so desire!

Superchick -alternative-

I really wanted to do a new Relient K song, but they are such a... weird... band and their songs are just awesome nonsense, not really things you can explain. But check out their new album (the birds and bee sides) cause its great.
The song I chose is called Stand in the Rain, and it's by Superchick off their Beauty From Pain album.
Lyrics:

She never slows down.
She doesn't know why but she knows that when she's all alone,
feels like its all coming down
She won't turn around
The shadows are long and she fears if she cries that first tear,
the tears will not stop raining down

[CHORUS]
So stand in the rain
Stand your ground
Stand up when it's all crashing down
You stand through the pain
You won't drown
And one day, whats lost can be found
You stand in the rain

She won't make a sound
Alone in this fight with herself and the fears whispering
if she stands she'll fall down
She wants to be found
The only way out is through everything she's running from
wants to give up and lie down.

[CHORUS] x3

This song is neat because it's got kind a rock-ish feel but has violins which give it a different sound than most rock/ alternative bands have. Superchick does a really great job of mixing all syles of music in, and still making it sound amazing.
In this song they talk about how a girl is trying to stay strong and not drown in her fear, and that she is trying to pull everything back together, even if it's falling apart. We need to stand in the rain and not lose hope because Jesus can always catch us if we fall. "and one day what's lost will be found" is probably my favorite line because it means that even if we do go onto the wrong path, or if we get 'lost' God will always find us and we can have His hope to carry us through hard times.

Capital Lights -alternative and punk-

ok, this is just because i got my new Capital Lights CD (This Is An Outrage) yesterday, and it is freaking AmAzInG and they deserve to be on here. They are a new band and not many people have heard of them, but anyway..... my favorite song is Let The Little Lady Talk. If you like that, then check out their other stuff. (I also like Mile Away)
There is like no freakin thing ANYWHERE to where i can link this song or add it to my playlist, so im 'fraid this will have to do. LTLLT.
lyrics to LTLLT:

Let down when your on top, you don't stop, you gotta let the little lady talk.
One round says you both drop, you don't stop, you don't stop the lovers hanging on.
Well welcome home, midnight to dawn, light the battle fields, we'll tear the walls down.
The girl pulls her own, head-start to fall, see the shock of a citywide blackout.
She takes the cake to the podium top.
I got nothing left now but to carry on... I'll carry on.
Well welcome home, midnight to dawn, light the battle fields and let her carry you on.
Hey, so make your best wishes,
I like to watch them all circle around.

Let down when your on top, you don't stop, you gotta let the little lady talk.
One round says you both drop the last call on the house where the lover's hanging on.
Back down! Get on the wall... you don't stop, you gotta let the little lady talk.
One round says you both drop, you don't stop the lovers hanging on.

Well welcome home, another late night show inviting with a knockout.
The girl takes the talk, cheats you out of the walk, paralyzing from the waist down..
I've caught the wind from the fits you throw.
I've got nothing left now but to let it go... I'll let it go.
Well welcome home, another late night show, we're fighting for the knockout.
Hey, so make your best wishes,
I like to watch them all circle around.
Hey, the lottery you wasted... I watch you burn your sweepstakes to the ground.

I wanna throw in the towel...
So this is how it feels to be down...
So this is what it feels like.
Yeah, I watch them circle around.
Well welcome home, hey hey!
You don't stop the lovers hanging on.

So yeah. I totally love the song, and this band is totally the next big thing.
I love the sound and mood of this song, and the vocals are shveet. check out their MySpace and you can get the album for $7.99 on iTunes.

hey guess what!?!?!

i got a video bar. Its at the veeeery bottom, but now u can watch the videos without leaving the page! :) anywahyeee, i have flyleaf up now, since i just posted about their song. ill do whatever song i posted about that day. just fyi.
buhbie.

I'm So Sick by Flyleaf- Hardcore and a bit of screamo

Well, on the poll you guys voted for I'm So Sick or Fully Alive, and I chose I'm So Sick. I personally love this song, infact the whole album is amazing. Sorrow is now my personal favorite. Anyway, here is the link, and im working on trying to like, have the actual video on the page, so if anyone knows how to do that, TELL ME!!!
Lyrics:
"I'm So Sick"

I will break into thoughts
With what's written on my heart
I will break, break

I'm so sick,
Infected with where I live
Let me live without this
Empty bliss, selfishness
I'm so sick
I'm so sick

If you want more of this
We can push out, sell out, die out
So you'll shut up
And stay sleeping
With my screaming in your itching ears

I'm so sick,
Infected with where I live
Let me live without this
Empty bliss, selfishness
I'm so sick
I'm so sick

Hear it,
I'm screaming it
You're heeding to it now
Hear it!
I'm screaming it!
You tremble at this sound
You sink into my clothes
And this invasion
Makes me feel
Worthless, hopeless, sick

I'm so sick,
Infected with where I live
Let me live without this
Empty bliss, selfishness
I'm so sick
I'm so sick

I'm so sick
Infected with where I live
Let me live without this
Empty bliss, selfishness
I'm so
I'm so sick
I'm so
I'm so sick

This song is sooooo good, i heart it tons. i love the hardcore guitar, and drums, and Lacey's (the singer) voice is freaking amazing. She hits the high notes, and has this little thing where her voice like, breaks and goes to a certain pitch on some words which is cool.
The song talks about how she is so sick of how she is living and how the world is. She wants the world to hear what she has to say about how we should go about things. The chorus is like, about how we all infect others and how sometimes we get infected with the selfishness and empty bliss thats all around us. and i like how she says "hear it! Im screaming it! Your heeding at it now. Hear it! Im screaming it! You tremble at the sound" because there are people out there who are trying to help us, (like God) and we turn our backs to them. If they keep persisting then we start listening, and trust me, if you listen it can change your life.

Stellar Kart- Shine like the Stars- Rock

Ok, so you might have noticed my new layout....... shveet huh!?! Anyway, the song for today is Stellar Kart's Shine Like The Stars. It's off their album: Expect The Impossible.

Here's a link to the song.

Lyrics:

Verse 1:

Is it real

What you feel

Do you burn inside

Is it true

Within you

Is your spirit alive

Tell me why do you fear

And try to disappear

If you've got nothing to hide

Chorus:

Shine like the stars

Wherever you are

Wherever you go

Be heavenly glow

Shine like the stars

Verse 2:

I hear you say

You know the way

Still you live like you do

But compromise

Only satisfies

The dying part of you

Tell me why do you go

On hiding when you know

The world is waiting for you to

(chorus)

Don't fall down

Don't burn out

(chorus)

Now, for the breakdown which will be different. Im going to just do an overview of the song, instead of verse by verse.

Basically this song is talking about how you should always be yourself, and how you need to shine for God, and how the world is waiting for you to come out of 'hiding' inside of yourself. It also talks about how when your dying inside, compromise is good enough even if in reality it isnt, and how you need to wake up and live your life as best you can. Listen to the song, and tell me what you think of it.
sorry if that was too short.

As I Lay Dying part 1 -screamo-

Ok. So what I will do is put the basic lyrics on here and a link to the song or it's music video. I recommend pulling up a separate browser and listening to it while reading the lyrics because it will make better sense then. I accidentally screwed this up though, because I was just going to do The Sound of truth, so I posted that one first. Then I realised that I should do both. You know, cause it's like prequel, then sequel. Whatever.

As I Lay Dying: Nothing Left

Verse:
This world was never worthy
But how can I call it unfaithful
Every promise was fulfilled
As decay crawled from it's throat
Like the dead rising from an open grave
Lips of splendor and tongue of deceit
All dying now as our fragile wrists hold only waste

Chorus:
Like those gasping for their last breath
We cannot hide there's nothing left

Verse:
If all my sorrow has led me here
Then I would cry all of my tears
To have this chance again
And know there's more than this
And know there's more than you
(chorus)

Here's the music video. Both this song and it's sequel (The Sound Of Truth. Next post.) have pretty shveet music videos if you ask me. They feature freaking AWESOME guitar and drums, and the vocals are very interesting. Honestly, I think they should be on Guitar Hero or Rock Band or something. Anyway... I will dissect the song starting with the chorus and then moving onto verse 1, then 2.

Chorus:
The chorus talks about how there are people out in the world who have nothing left, who are without hope and are dying. Either figuratively or realistically.

Verse 1:
The first verse means that even though the world is full of lies, it has never let us down. Life gives us exactly what we asked for. Sometimes it gives it to us in ways that are destructive and evil though. When we take it, we are getting only trash and deceit.

Verse 2:
The second verse is saying that when we do bad things because of sorrow it can lead us to a bad place where we think there is no hope left for us. We wish that there was another way and more to the world and our lives than mistakes and lies. The only way is through Christ.

-Pookieface=]

As I Lay Dying part 2 - Screamo -

Ok, I'm doing the same thing for all of these. Lyrics, link, dissection.

As I Lay Dying: The Sound Of Truth

Chorus:
We have all heard what we wanted to hear
"Truth" that sounds right to our ears

Verse:
But what wisdom is there within us
To live based on the feeling of our hearts
How many times has instinct let us down
Never to be thought through
Never to be questioned
Say what you really mean
When your ambition calls you
For what use is there in praying
If you will only hear what you want to hear?

(chorus)

Verse:
We speak of fighting to resist this world
But what about the battle within us?
If we have chosen to live against the grain
Then why are we all facing the same way?
There is no difference between us and them
If we all blindly seek truth from sentiments

(chorus)

Ok, here's their music video.

This song/ video is the sequel to Nothing Left, which I posted first. This song talks about how if we are effected by the thoughts of the world, then where is the individuality we all claim to have?

I'll take it apart by chorus, verse 1, then verse 2.

Chorus:

The chorus is saying that if we just twist other people's words to mean what we want, then how is it 'truth' ? I could say, 55% of teens have tried pot at least once in their lives (FYI I just made up a stat, no clue if it's true or not) and then you could interpret that as 'Oh my gosh, nearly everyone in the world is a pothead! What has this world come to?' But that is really not what I said at all.

Verse 1:

If we only trust ourselves and the world, and don't put our faith in God, then we will just be going the wrong direction. Media is telling us it's ok to do certain things when God says that doing that is wrong. So what use is there in praying to Him and asking Him for help if we won't listen to His truth and we keep listening to the world instead?

Verse 2:

As Christians we are supposed to be telling people about Jesus not doing the same things as them. If we don't resist temptation to do certain things, we are just as bad as the people who don't know any better. We all blindly think that things we can buy or do will make things better because that's the way our society is, when really God is the only one that can give us everlasting love and forgiveness.
