Stellar Kart- Shine like the Stars- Rock

Ok, so you might have noticed my new layout....... shveet huh!?! Anyway, the song for today is Stellar Kart's Shine Like The Stars. It's off their album: Expect The Impossible.

Here's a link to the song.

Lyrics:

Verse 1:

Is it real

What you feel

Do you burn inside

Is it true

Within you

Is your spirit alive

Tell me why do you fear

And try to disappear

If you've got nothing to hide

Chorus:

Shine like the stars

Wherever you are

Wherever you go

Be heavenly glow

Shine like the stars

Verse 2:

I hear you say

You know the way

Still you live like you do

But compromise

Only satisfies

The dying part of you

Tell me why do you go

On hiding when you know

The world is waiting for you to

(chorus)

Don't fall down

Don't burn out

(chorus)

Now, for the breakdown which will be different. Im going to just do an overview of the song, instead of verse by verse.

Basically this song is talking about how you should always be yourself, and how you need to shine for God, and how the world is waiting for you to come out of 'hiding' inside of yourself. It also talks about how when your dying inside, compromise is good enough even if in reality it isnt, and how you need to wake up and live your life as best you can. Listen to the song, and tell me what you think of it.
sorry if that was too short.

As I Lay Dying part 1 -screamo-

Ok. So what I will do is put the basic lyrics on here and a link to the song or it's music video. I recommend pulling up a separate browser and listening to it while reading the lyrics because it will make better sense then. I accidentally screwed this up though, because I was just going to do The Sound of truth, so I posted that one first. Then I realised that I should do both. You know, cause it's like prequel, then sequel. Whatever.

As I Lay Dying: Nothing Left

Verse:
This world was never worthy
But how can I call it unfaithful
Every promise was fulfilled
As decay crawled from it's throat
Like the dead rising from an open grave
Lips of splendor and tongue of deceit
All dying now as our fragile wrists hold only waste

Chorus:
Like those gasping for their last breath
We cannot hide there's nothing left

Verse:
If all my sorrow has led me here
Then I would cry all of my tears
To have this chance again
And know there's more than this
And know there's more than you
(chorus)

Here's the music video. Both this song and it's sequel (The Sound Of Truth. Next post.) have pretty shveet music videos if you ask me. They feature freaking AWESOME guitar and drums, and the vocals are very interesting. Honestly, I think they should be on Guitar Hero or Rock Band or something. Anyway... I will dissect the song starting with the chorus and then moving onto verse 1, then 2.

Chorus:
The chorus talks about how there are people out in the world who have nothing left, who are without hope and are dying. Either figuratively or realistically.

Verse 1:
The first verse means that even though the world is full of lies, it has never let us down. Life gives us exactly what we asked for. Sometimes it gives it to us in ways that are destructive and evil though. When we take it, we are getting only trash and deceit.

Verse 2:
The second verse is saying that when we do bad things because of sorrow it can lead us to a bad place where we think there is no hope left for us. We wish that there was another way and more to the world and our lives than mistakes and lies. The only way is through Christ.

As I Lay Dying part 2 - Screamo -

Ok, I'm doing the same thing for all of these. Lyrics, link, dissection.

As I Lay Dying: The Sound Of Truth

Chorus:
We have all heard what we wanted to hear
"Truth" that sounds right to our ears

Verse:
But what wisdom is there within us
To live based on the feeling of our hearts
How many times has instinct let us down
Never to be thought through
Never to be questioned
Say what you really mean
When your ambition calls you
For what use is there in praying
If you will only hear what you want to hear?

(chorus)

Verse:
We speak of fighting to resist this world
But what about the battle within us?
If we have chosen to live against the grain
Then why are we all facing the same way?
There is no difference between us and them
If we all blindly seek truth from sentiments

(chorus)

Ok, here's their music video.

This song/ video is the sequel to Nothing Left, which I posted first. This song talks about how if we are effected by the thoughts of the world, then where is the individuality we all claim to have?

I'll take it apart by chorus, verse 1, then verse 2.

Chorus:

The chorus is saying that if we just twist other people's words to mean what we want, then how is it 'truth' ? I could say, 55% of teens have tried pot at least once in their lives (FYI I just made up a stat, no clue if it's true or not) and then you could interpret that as 'Oh my gosh, nearly everyone in the world is a pothead! What has this world come to?' But that is really not what I said at all.

Verse 1:

If we only trust ourselves and the world, and don't put our faith in God, then we will just be going the wrong direction. Media is telling us it's ok to do certain things when God says that doing that is wrong. So what use is there in praying to Him and asking Him for help if we won't listen to His truth and we keep listening to the world instead?

Verse 2:

As Christians we are supposed to be telling people about Jesus not doing the same things as them. If we don't resist temptation to do certain things, we are just as bad as the people who don't know any better. We all blindly think that things we can buy or do will make things better because that's the way our society is, when really God is the only one that can give us everlasting love and forgiveness.
